AD6-NT11D: Sapa ethnic minority people and Ha Long bay kayaking
 
Itinerary:
Day 1: Board the plane to Vietnam
Day 2: Arrival Hanoi
Arrive Hanoi. Spend the afternoon exploring Hanoi. Stay in the Old Quarter. Water Puppets booked for evening.
Day 3: Hanaoi - Sapa (B)
Day free to explore Hanoi. Visit the Temple of Literature, Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and wander the streets in the Old Quarter. Buy supplies for overnight train to Lao Cai. The train departs at 2220, but you should be at the train station at least one hour before departure. You will be accompanied by a local guide who will stay with the team during the trek.
Day 4: Sapa ethnic minority village (B, L, D)
Team will be met on arrival in Lao Cai at 0600 and transferred to Sapa. You will have time for breakfast and a shower before departing on trek. From Sansaho village you will walk through Y-Ninh Ho Village, Laochai to Tavan where you will spend the night. Todays hike is approximately 5 hours. You will stay at Tavan in a traditional house. The entire team will sleep in one room and you will be cooked local Vietnamese food by your hosts.
Day 5: Sapa ethnic minority village (B, L, D)
Ta Van you will pass through the bamboo forest and onto Giang Ta Chai Village, home to the Zao people for lunch. Then you will continue to Banho Village where you will stay the night with the Tay people.
Day 6: Sapa ethnic minority village (B, L, D)
Trek Following breakfast you will embark on a 5-6 hour trek, which will take you along Buffalo paths and trails through several hill tribe villages. This is a spectacular walk and you will meet some very friendly people along the way, especially the kids. You will visit Nam Tong Village, home to the Red Dzao people and have lunch in Nam Cang Village, Xa Pho, minority people. Then you will hike through Thanh Phu, home to the Tay people and onto Sinchai, home to Red Dzao people
Day 7:Sapa - return Ha Noi (B, L, D)
Today you will walk along village tracks and rice paddy fields. From Banho you will walk back to My son and have lunch in Thanh Phu, Tay House. From Thanh Phu you will walk to SuPan (H’mong, Zao and Tay people) where you will be met by jeeps and transferred to Sapa. You will have time in the afternoon to explore Sapa before being transferred to the train station in Lao Cai for the overnight sleeper to Hanoi. The train departs at 2115. Prepare foods for the train journey.
Day 8: Hanoi - Ha Long bay boating & kayaking (B, L, D)
Leave for Halong Bay early. You will drive to Halong Bay in private transport through the Red River Delta. Marvel at the spectacular limestone formations that rise out of the bay. Meals and accommodation will be organized for you. The team will stay overnight on boat.
Day 9: Ha Long bay - Hanoi (B, L)
Explore Halong Bay, caves, floating fish farm and local markets. If the weather allows enjoy some swimming and kayaking off the boat. Return Hanoi.
Day 10: Depart Ha Noi (B)
Day to shop, visit sites, relax, evening flight
Day 11: Arrive home.
