AD8-NT12D: North Vietnam- Sapa hilltribe trek & Halong bay Cruise

Day 01: Arrival Hanoi Arrival transfer to our hotel in Hanoi. Overnight at Zehpyr hotel, a cozy boutique style by Hoan Kiem lake.
Day 02: Hanoi - Sapa - bus (-/ L/ D) Our adventure starts with the drive to the mountain town of Sapa. The journey to Sapa will take the best part of the day. The drive is worthwhile though, as the scenery on our northward journey into the highlands is both dramatic and breathtaking. Arriving in Sapa late in the afternoon, we will check into our hotel and use the remainder of the day with a short walk around town. This evening we will dine at one of the local restaurants.
Day 03: Sapa Catcat village & Tavan village (B/ L/ D) Today we start by our pleasant walk to Cat Cat village, set in a beautiful valley just outside Sapa. Cat Cat is home to the H’mong people who originated from China, where they emigrated from about 300 years ago. The H’mong people are also easily recognizable due to their dark clothing, usually blue or black. The dye is fashioned from the indigo or hemp plant that is native to the area. H’mong women wear long aprons with embroidered waistcoats and have their hair rolled up into a turban-like hat, whilst the men wear a black skullcap, long waistcoat and loose trousers. Stopping for a picnic lunch by the creek we will spend the night with a family in Ta Van village, inhabited by the Giay people who are Vietnam’s largest minority group, numbering more than one million , of Tay- Thai group. They have become very adept at rice cultivation and, in marked contrast to the H’mong, they have a higher living standard as a result. Overnight at tribal village.
Day 04: Tavan village – BanHo villages (B/ L/ D) We bid farewell to our friendly people and head out for Seo Trung Ho village, we climb uphill and down dales to Seo Trung Ho, Dzao village. From here we pass through several H'mong villages perched on distant hill, and are sure to attract attention as this part of the country receive very few visitors. We will arrive at Ban Ho village, Tay minority people by later afternoon . We will have time to walk around this charming little village, enabling us to understand a little more about how the people live. The village is home to the Tay people and tonight we will be their guests in one of their traditional stilt houses. There we will be toasted as honored guests and will be able to sample some of their homemade rice wine!
Day 5: Sinchai villages (B/ L/ D) Following breakfast we embark on our five to six-hour trek that will take us along buffalo paths and trails and through several hill tribe villages. This is an absolutely spectacular walk through stunning scenery inhabited by some of the friendliest people you will meet. We cross the river and passing by Nam Tong villages, Red Dzao people. Lunch in Nam Cang village – Phula ( Xa Pho ) minority people, then hike through Thanh Phu, Tay minority people to Sinchai Red Dzao people for home stay. Tonight the accommodation is just rustic but the experience is enriching. (Breakfast, Lunch and Diner included)
Day 6: Supan village – Sapa (-/ L/ D) We walk uphill toward Supan, red Dzao villages. As we walk to the village nestled in the valley below Sapa, we will meet some of the local minority people on their way to and from Sapa. These minority people walk to Sapa to trade at the markets. Sapa market is always an exciting place as several, different ethnic minorities congregate here. As well as the H’mong you will also see the Dao (pronounced Zao). Dao women are particularly striking as they wear a large red turban often covered with old coins or jewelry. We meet our awaiting jeep for the drive to Sapa. Tonight’s accommodation will be at a local guesthouse.
Day 7: Bacha market - Hanoi (-/ L/ D) Rising to the sounds of morning coming to life for another lovely day, we breakfast and head out for a stunning spectacular of bobbling bazaar. Bacha ‘s considered one of the most wonderful and colorful markets in extreme north Vietnam where thousands of local people in their traditional attires busily buy and sell the local produces. Dog, cat, pig, horse... are all on sales. This is golden opportunity to take best shots! Afternoon we leave for Cocly, where we visit the limestone cave before we board our sampan for a couple of hour cruise along the wild river. Our awaiting van at the dock will pick you up and transfer to Lao Cai for overnight train back to Hanoi
Day 8: Arrive Hanoi (B) The train arrive Hanoi at 5am. Transfer to our hotel. At leisure. Evening water puppet tickets for 2 persons Overnight at Zehpyr hotel in Hanoi.
Day 9: Hanoi – Halong bay cruise (B/ L/ D) Pick up from your hotel in Hanoi at 0830 for a four-hour drive through the Red River Delta to Halong City. Arrive in Halong City we transfer to to a refurbished wooden sailing junk for a cruise through the limestone cliffs and emerald waters of Halong Bay, giving us the chance to take in the stunning scenery of this World Heritage Site. While on board we will be served a sumptuous fresh, local seafood lunch followed by a swim and exploring some of the limestone caves in this area. When the sun come down we drop anchor for the night nearby a remote island. 12h30: Board Huong Hai Junk, check-in registration 13h00: Have lunch with welcome wine. 14h00: A fantastic cruise in Halong bay 15h00. Optional visit to Thien Cung cave , Dau Go cave, round over Tuan Chau island, or Sungsot cave Optional swim at lovely beaches. Afternoon tea with pastries on the sundeck or in the restaurant and drink before dinner.
Overnight on Junk Cruise
Day 10: Halong bay cruise - Hanoi (-/ L/ D) Rising to the sound of ocean coming to life for another lovely day. We breakfast over sunset: 07h30 : Junk boat once again sets sail through breathtaking secluded Halong bay 08h00: Enjoy breakfast while cruising 9h00 : Visit Bai tu long Bay , Teapot island , Chopstiks island , Bai tho mountain. 11h00 : Return to Halong city and have lunch on board. 12h00 : Back to Halong wharf and disembark Transfer back to Hanoi. Overnight at Zehpyr hotel in Hanoi.. (Breakfast and lunch included)
Day 11: Hanoi (B) At leisure to enjoy beautiful Hanoi Overnight at Zehpyr hotel in Hanoi.
Day 12: Departure (B) Transfer to airport for your departure flight
