| | | AD3-NT4D: FANSIPAN CLIMBS 6 Days ( 4day trek)

At 3,143 meters Mt. Fanxipang is Vietnam’s highest mountain. It is only 9 km from Sapa town but it takes at least three days to get to the peak and back. The top is accessible year-round to anybody who is in good shape. As there are no mountain huts on the way, we will be camping. Our porters carry the equipment and food. No ropes or technical climbing skills are needed, just endurance and plenty of energy. The terrain is rugged, wet and often cold.
Day 1: Hanoi - Sapa Our trip starts with an overnight train journey from Vietnam's capital city to the border town of Lao Cai. The train departs at 21:30pm
Day 2: Sapa - First Peak (2,300 m) (B/ L/ D) Arrival Laocai station , transfer to our hotel in Sapa. Enjoy the breakfast and set out on the first part of the ascent. We begin with a trek through terraced rice paddies and some of the villages of the H'mong minority people. Once we reach an elevation of 1,700 m we will stop for lunch and an energy boost before climbing up to the first peak at an elevation of 2,300. Here we will set up camp for the night.
Day 3: Trek to second base camp (2,700m) (B/ L/ D) After our first night on the mountain we set out for the seven-hour trek to our second camp. As we continue on we will pass through primary forest containing giant, centuries old pine trees and expanses of yellow bamboo. Our continuing trek will take us to an altitude of 2,900m, where we will stop for lunch. After lunch we trek downhill to an elevation of 2,700m, where we set up camp for the second night within sight of the summit.
Day 4: The Summit (B/ L/ D) Following breakfast this morning, we climb to the roof of Vietnam: Fansipan Peak. The final climb will only take around three hours. Once at the summit we will spend some time soaking up the best panorama in Vietnam. While relaxing we will have lunch before descending back to our second camp where we left our equipment. Here we will spend our third night on the mountain.
Day 5: Second Camp - Sapa (B/ -/ -) Today it’s downhill just about all the way. Following breakfast we begin our descent and reach Sapa by around lunchtime. The afternoon will then be free to explore the charms of Sapa town or relax after the climb.
Day 6: Sapa - Hanoi (B/ -/ -) At leisure to stretch out leg and enjoy Sapa town. This afternoon there will be a transfer to Laocai station for overnight train back to Hanoi. The train leaves At 18:45pm.
Day 7: Hanoi Arrival to Hanoi early in the morning. Transfer to your hotel. The trip concludes in Hanoi.
