Cycling into the heart of Mekong Delta

The Mekong River is one of the world's 10th rivers in its river length and has great influences upon nature and societies of the Indo-china Peninsula. The name "MEKONG" originate in Thai language, Mae Nam Khong1). The source of the Mekong River is in Tibet mountains and is called Dza Chu River (River of Rock). After running through very narrow valley paralling Yangz Jiang and Salween River, the Mekong reach to Yung-Nan Province of China and is called Lancang Jiang (Turbulent River). Via Golden Triangle, the crossing of China, Myanmer and Laos boarder, the Mekong flow into Vientiane Plain. The term, Lower Mekong means downstream segment from the point. There are some notorious rapids for French navigation plan in colonial period before the Mekong get to Cambodia, and the last segment is the Mekong Delta in Vietnam , which distributes grate influeces to agriculture, especially paddy fields there. According to a sketch on the right, we can see this long river with some segments hereinafter.

Detail tour program

Day 1 : HCMC – My tho – Vinh Long ( L/D )
Transfer to Tan An by support van and your cycling tour guide. Start your day by cycling through the peaceful villages to enjoy the tranquil rice fields, orchards, water buffalos, ducks swimming in the same rivers. Lunch en route. Keep cycling to Cai Be, you then take the boat ride across the Mekong river to enjoy the charm of the Binh Hoa Phuoc village. Get you energy back with a nice dinner full of local dishes.

Day 2 : Vinh Long – Cantho ( B/L/D )
After breakfast, start your day with the bike rides on the island. It is a great chance for you to meet the local villagers, farmers. Late morning, we head for Cantho on your pedals with stops on the way to experience the daily life in the Mekong Delta region. Overnight at your proposed hotel in Can Tho.

Day 3 : Cantho – Cai Rang – Phong Dien – HCMC ( B/L/- )
Breakfast at the hotel. Take a two hour boat trip to visit the Cai Rang & Phong Dien floating markets. Roam into the villages to visit the rice paper mill, the rice noodles. Experience your bikes on the “ Monkey Bridge “ like a local. Keep cycling into the villages to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the rural areas. After lunch, meet the support to return to Hochiminh city. End of services.

Group tour: To join with other people on available daily tours. These tours are fixed itinerary and departure time. It is possible to join in even your group of only 1 or 2 people. Customer do not to find other people to form the group. It is our company duty to gather the tourists for each tour. For these tours, you have to share the coach, boat and tour guide with other tourists who come from different nationalities. The number of people of this group is normally less than 20 persons.

Private tour: To do the tour privately. The tour is not fixed, it is possible to be customized for your group. All service is reserved for your group only. You do not have to share the bus, boat, tour guide with other tourists. One exception, if you stay at the boat in Halong bay - it is like the hotel in Halong- you still have to share the boat with other people.
