It played a prominent historical role in the American war, being the landing site for the first American troops officially sent to Vietnam. Even with the bustle of ships coming and going, poor Danang has to be one of the world's ugliest cities, and there isn't a major attraction except for the Cham Museum (a must-see).

Danang, the fourth-largest city in Vietnam, is one of the most important seaports in the central region. Even with the bustle of ships coming and going, poor Danang has to be one of the world's ugliest cities, and there isn't a major attraction except for the Cham Museum (a must-see). Unfortunately, it has been given the shaft by all the tour buses that used to make a stop here en route between Hoi An and Hue.
